Queue Notes

As guests approaching the Millennium Falcon itself, the queue entrance wraps behind the ship into the maintenance bay at Ohnaka Transport Solutions.

Inside the maintenance bay, various crew members are working on Ohnaka's fleet of ships in hopes of getting them in full working order. Crew can also be heard discussing the necessary preparations in order for the Millennium Falcon to be ready for its flight crew.

The queue ascends a switchback catwalk into an area overlooking the Falcon. Guests can look out onto Black Spire Outpost to view the full size falcon through a row of windows.

Inside the Command Center, an animatronic Hondo gives guests their smuggling mission while his droid R5P8 moves Hondo along and fixes malfunctioning equipment. Monitors behind Ohnaka show the Millennium Falcon rising up for its Black Spire Outpost location into the interior maintenance bay of Ohnaka Transport Solutions.

A bridge connects the spaceport to the Millennium Falcon and once inside the Falcon each guest will be given their boarding assignment. Here they'll be joined by other flight crews that can all explore the interior of the Falcon including the holographic Dejarik chess game.

From this room, individual flight crews will be called to enter the Millennium Falcon cockpit for their smuggling mission.

The famous corridors lead into the cockpit that has been reconfigured with six individual seats for the mission.

Vehicle Description

The cockpit of the Millennium Falcon seats six guests in three rows of two. A center aisle separates each seat and each row has a different responsibility.

  • Pilots are seated in the front row with the left side responsible for steering the ship left and right, and the right seat responsibile for steering the ship up and down.
  • The Gunners are in the middle row with the shared responsiblity of manning the Falcon's weapons systems.
  • Engineers are in the last row and they're responsible for repairing the ship during the trip.

The cockpit features over 200 functional buttons, switches and knobs that all have function and consequence to the outcome of the mission.

Four rotating turntables each have seven cockpits that move into position for guest load and unload. Two additional stationary cockpits are equipped for guests requiring additional time for load and unload. The turntables are used primarily for throughput and their motion is undetectable on the ride itself.

The attraction uses a seatbelt for restraints.

Story

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run puts guests inside the cockpit of the most famous ship in the galaxy. From the moment guests enter the maintenance bay at Ohnaka Transport Solutions, guests play an active role in the experience.

As guests approach the attraction, the Millennium Falcon appears outside the maintenance facility, venting gas from it's engines. The Falcon can be viewed from a variety of different angles outside the attraction and in the queue.

The attraction's backstory centers around space pirate Hondo Ohnaka. Ohnaka has amassed a fIeet of ships to transport a variety of different cargo around the galaxy. Through an arrangement with Chewbacca, Ohnaka is borrowing the ship for our mission. Six person flight crews are assigned one of three roles, Pilot, Gunner and Engineer.

Ohnaka is tasking our flight crew with the responsibility of transporting equipment and cargo but as a space pirate, the nature of that equipment and cargo is not always wholesome.

Disney has not officially details the mission(s), but speculation has multiple mission possibilities including:

  • A race on Corellia
  • A trip to a First Order shipyard on Corellia
  • Steal a piece of cargo and battle a monster

Technical Notes

  • The Millennium Falcon is 112 feet long.
  • Disney partnered with NVIDIA for the ride system rendering. The attraction is expected to be 8K resolution rendered in real time.
