As part of the 12 days of Disney Parks Christmas promotion, the Disney Parks Blog shared details and concept art on the Disney Skyliner project. The Disney Skyliner is a gondola transportation system that will connect the following parks and resorts:
- Epcot (via the International Gateway)
- Disney's Hollywood Studios
- Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
- Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort
Guests visiting the Disney Skyliner station at Epcot's International Gateway will share a similar design to the nearby France and United Kingdom Pavilions. It will be covered by metal and glass canopies, hand-painted murals and ornamental steel with a nod to early 18th century Art Nouveau. The Skyliner will offer unique views of World Showcase as guests approach the park.
The Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort station will act as a hub for the Disney Skyliner allowing guests to transfer to different gondola lines. The station design is inspired by the open air village marketplaces of the Caribbean.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the station design is in line with the park entrance/Pan Pacific auditorium aesthetic. The approach to and from this park will offer unique views of attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation Resort will share a Disney Skyliner station with a design that blends the two resorts. The path will extend over Hourglass Lake as guests leave these two resorts.
The gondolas will slow down at the Disney Skyliner turn-station on Buena Vista Drive offering guests a look at the mechanical components that make up the Disney Skyliner system.
